Forgive me. This is not my area of expertise and I am having what appear to be basic setup issues.
Simply, what I am trying to achieve is to access my office computer from home. My office has a router and I have configured everything there so that the computer on my desk has a static IP address (192.168.1.3) and I have also setup port forwarding so that port 22 is sent inbound (and outboud) to and from this specific IP address. I have also activated a user on my computer in the office (the same one I log in as, which, for simplicity, does not currently have a password).
On my computer, at home, I have also installed copSSH and activated the Administrator user (which I have also removed the password from, for simplicity).
I want to be able to use a third party piece of software called WebDrive, but when I run this it just tells me thatit cannnot connect with my office computer.
How do I test that copSSH is configured correctly so that I can eliminate this part of the puzzle? I've looked at the documentation, but it seems to way too sparse for me to be able to truly figure out what I need to do.
Thanks.
Peter
