I am getting following error on a system with cwrsync/cwrsyncserver when starting a sechaw script:
"Problems during locating cwrsync installation directory"The same script is working fine on other systems.
Could you please give me a hint, where to look?
If i start rsync/sechaw via explorer/cmd, it starts without errors
Thanks in advance! Steven

Hi,
Is there a way to control the cpu use in windows? When I run rsync/ssh on my notebook (1.6 Ghz Pentium M), it maxes my cpu out to 100% .. though I can't see the process that is doing this.I tried --bwlimit=kbs, but made no difference.
Also, it always requires two attempts for me to contact the remote server as though something is sleeping :(

is it possible to run another command or script on exit?i've already thought about replacing the exit command with a script, but can't find to replace, even though the command still works.
$ which exit
exit: Command not found.user@server /bin
$ which logout
logout: Command not found. -

Hi,
I have no experience so far with RSync/cwRsync. We would like to use cwRsync on our Windows Server 2003-Machine. We want to synchronize files with a another company, which uses a Linux-Server with RSync. Is it possible to synchronize data between two different servers (Linux/Windows)?
Do I need to install an extra ssh-implentation for Windows or is it already included in cwRsync? Is there any special ssh-implementation you would prefer for Windows (like Open ssh for Windows)? Thanks in advance.Marcus

Hi!
Is it possible to get PowerShell running with copSSH? PowerShell is a new and enhanced command line shell from Microsoft and can be downloaded for free from the MS-Server.If I try to start PowerShell from a bash prompt, I get the following output:

Hello,
first of all thanks for the great software!I've installed cwRsync 2.0.9 with openSSH server and succesfully use both of them. There is no problem when I run rsync when I am logged into windows.
But when I log out and cronw (windows alternative of cron) runs the rsync command, there is the following error in the log:
This is for local synchronization, so it is not problem of some remote user. Should I change cygwin to notnsec? Would it help?
Thanks a lot for any suggestion.

Installed cwRsync_Server_2.0.9. Now the already installed cygwnin (1.5.21) X11 server does not work any more.OK, I have been warned by the installer, but is there a way to run
the cwRsync environment and the "standard" cygwin env in parallel? -

Hi.
Using version 1.61, running:\pestanafs04\misc\signatures\adolsign --signature \pestanafs04\misc\signatures\Signature_Cavalaricas_PT_01 --default
blows up with an error after the "m" in misc.
Mapping a drive to this path, making it the current directory and running without paths works fine.
Thanks

hi, it's not really clear to me, if cwRsync (or rsync in general) supports windows acls...What does the rsyncacl.exe do, does it just support unix-acls?

Hi there,
i got a problem with sechaw, it seems that rsync is launching before plink can successfully open a connection. rsync aborts with "connection refused" before the tunnel is established. Is there any way to impose a delay between both processes? Anyone had this problem before?
Thanks in advance

Hello -
I'm running the following command:adolsign --signature test1 --default
It creates my "test1" signature but does not set it as default.
Please help. Oh...could this be because I'm using the Demo?
Thanks,

Hi all,
I'm having problems starting my rsync services on three controllers (all win2003) on the same domain. The problem is, when I install rsync on one machine, it seems to reset the password on the other two machines when it creates the service account. I then get the 'Error 1069 The service did not start due to a logon failure' message - as if the password is wrong. However, if I set it to the password of the newly created service account on the other machines, I instead get 'Error 5 Access is denied'.

I'm running 2.6.8 (cwrsync 2.0.8). Since the last update I've been getting the following error in several logs:
Invalid file index: 1195644103 (count=102238)
rsync error: protocol incompatibility (code 2) at sender.c(169)The actual index number varies between machines. The error is repeatable on a particular machine. The rsync command I'm using is:
rsync -ruvi --times --delete --no-blocking-io --compress-level=9 --bwlimit=0 --stats --modify-window=2 SOURCE DEST
I am sending the files over an SSH tunnel using OpenSSH. Thanks, as usual!!

How can I configure COPssh to listen for SSH connections on all active network adapters? I have to work from home using VPN. The VPN client I have to use updates the IP stack, and once that is done people can no longer connect to the SSH server. I thought having the ability for COPssh to monitor all ports might resolve this.

I use CopSSH with Windows XP. \
As I understand it, KERBEROS 5 is the authentication with Windows XP users. I would like to use that instead of a password to create the SSH tunnel. Please explain to me how to set up the SSH server to work with that authetication....I hope the question was understood. If not, I'll try to explain better.

Fellow rsync users,
I have a few cwRsync clients connecting to a linux box with latest Rsync through an ssh tunnel using the cw secure tunnel wrapper. As many of you know, connections through NATs and long file transfer usually result in the connection being dropped and "closed". We do this through a 10Mbit connection but we still have problems. I don't think it is an Rsync problem or an SSH tunnel problem, the connection just closes probably due to router issues which we cannot control. -

I'm testing Cwrsync Server 2.0.8 and I can see that the slow/sleep transfer problem is associated with the use of OpenSSH.
I see processes sshd and rsync that never finish. When I try without OpenSSH it works, I only has the problem with privileges of folder, that I must to add the user of rsync. But transfer
without problems.Where could be the problem
Thanks

Is there a known issue with using CwRsync (Server v2.0.4) with McAfee Virus Scan Enterprise v8.0i (with Buffer overflow protection enabled)?
Seems I am getting problem whenever I try to ssh to the target
box (ssh server) which has McAfee v8.0i with buffer overflow protection enbabled. However, when buffer overflow protection is
disabled, ssh seems to be more stable.Thank you for your help.
