I installed CopSSH 4.2.3 about 2 years ago on a Windows 2008 server. We never did get it work properly and basically abandoned the project. However, I have issue with Windows updates not getting installed properly and this started about the same time I installed CopSSH. I would like to uninstall CopSSH but I cannot find a way to do that. It is not listed in "Programs and Features". I tried running the installation routine but didn't see an option to uninstall. Can you please tell me how to completely uninstall the application and remove any remnants.
thank you
Hmm, it seems to me that something terrible in general happened on your system two years ago, as both Windows updates and Copssh stopped to function. I doubt that those two were culprits. It is a known fact that Windows updates may affect some software badly sometimes. Copssh uninstaller should have been available via the Control Panel.
Anyway, just have a look at the Copssh installation directory. There should be an uninstaller there.
SC DELETE OpenSSHServer
What is the filename of the uninstaller? The only executable I see is in the ICW/bin folder, named cygrunsrv.exe. Is that it?
I noticed also that Adobe Flash Player 11 ActiveX was installed around that same time as well. Any known issues with that?
Just continue through the list above by trying to remove the service. It seems that the uninstallation was performed before and the service couldn't be removed properly.
Well, I don't see any of the services. I only see the installation directory. I don't remember uninstalling this but that is the way it appears. All that is left is the installation directory remnants. I will delete.
