I just upgraded to 1.3.0a (from 1.2.4) and now the rsync client causes my network connection to stop responding. After starting rsync (ex. rsync -rtzgopn /cygdrive/e/SharedData2 TEST01::zdrive), it will run for 20-30 seconds and then network access is cut (doesn't respond to pings). This happens even with the -n "dry run" option. I must reboot the machine to regain network access.
My machine (Dell PowerEdge 2400) is a dual-cpu P4 (with hyperthreading) running Windows 2000 Server. It has a single onboard Intel gigabit ethernet port.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated!
Try to run your rsync command with -vv option to see some diagnostic messages. They may help.
What other software do you run on your server ?
