Hi,
cwrsync_server_installer claims that I've cygwin allready installed on my machine. That is nothing but wrong - so how can bypass that damn test? (Please don't take my majority away - I'm not 6 years old, I know what I do and what I want... *sigh*)
Cygwin is already installed

removing the regedit key like described in the faq worked.... So that whole is check is sth. like nonsense....
Hi,
I agree with you, quite a few people have been caught out with this (including myself).
I think a warning message would be OK, but cancelling the install just creates a hassle when you don't know about the reg hack.
Cheers,
Vaughan
Hi,
Sorry folks. That was not my intention at all. My focus was not to mess up with an existing and working installation. Next releases will ask if you want to overwrite the existing one.
Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it !!
I'm ignorant about this, but might it be possible to rename cygwin1.dll and other files as necessary to something else (perhaps cygwincw.dll) so that the full cygwin installation and cwRsync can coexist?
Sorry if this is a stupid suggestion, but if it is can you tell me why?
Thanks,
Bill
Hi,
All I know is that cygwin-tools are linked to cygwin1.dll.
If you have other programs depending on cygwin dll installed on your machine, they might stop to work after cwrsync install.
