Bandwith limiting

I'm quite new to rsync, I just install it and put it to work in a win2k environnement.
I saw that there's a --bwlimit=KBPS option. Can I add it to the server arguments or should I use it on the client side (or both)?

Also is someone using rsync to replicate large data volumes and is there some thing to deal with it?

Actually I take my hard disk physically to do some ROBOCOPY from time to time. I have to replicate about 80'000 to 100'000 files, each file is normally between 5M - 10M, some of them could be 100M.

Thanks for advices
Robert

Re: Bandwith limiting

--bwlimit option can be used both at sender and receiver sides. Rsync is an effective solution for replicating large data volumes.
