activating users

I am running copSSH on Windows 2003 SP1. I downloaded the latest version of copSSH 1.3.7 today. I activated one user without a problem. When I activated the second user it did not create the myhome directory. When I go to either users home directory (/home/user1 or /home/user2)and try to create a link to another directory it says permission denied. If I go to /home/user1/myhome and try to create the link it works fine. There is no /home/user2/myhome directory to try to create the link in for user2. I tried to deactivate user2 and it told me it couldn't remove /home/user2 it says Device or resource is busy.
Any ideas on how to get user2 to work?

Thank you

Re: activating users

Activation script does not create myhome link if there is no windows home directory for a user. A home directory will be created when you log in windows for the first time.

I have tested activation of two users (one with a home directory and the other without a home) on a Windows 2003 (not SP1!!) system. It worked as expected.

Re: activating users

Thank you for your reply. It is nice to know why what I figured out worked. I was able to get user2 deactivated. I then logged in as user2. Then recreated user2 and the my home directory did show up. Could I have just logged in and been ok without deactivating and reactivating user2?
Could the FAQ on linking to other directories include a note that you have to be in /home/username/myhome directory to create the links to other directories? Or is there some permission thing I am missing when I get the permission denied when I try it at the /home/username level?

Thank you,
Diana

Login to windows first and (re)activating user for copssh later is the right sequence.

Activation process sets full rights for the user at /home/username. A user should be able to create links her/him-self. However, administrators cannot do that since they have only read access.
