Problem:
When trying to use cwRsync (2.0.6 or 2.0.7) on a new Dell latitude D820 (Core Duo) the cpu(s) go to 100% use. Hitting ctrl-c will stop rsync.
When trying to connect to a remote rsync server, only one core (50%) is used. If trying to do a local to local copy, both cores get maxed, and the sync never happens - like it's stuck it's a loop.
Doesn’t matter if there are zero files to sync, one file to sync, or hundreds.
Any ideas?
Which OS and Service Pack combination do you have ?
Found a solution.
The Dell Latitude D820 (among others) come with a TPM chip and "Wave Systems Embassy Trust Suite" installed.
Uninstalling said software allowed cwRsync to work without trouble.
This was on Windows XP pro, SP2, BTW
