Windows users are forced to change their password every 90 days or so.  If I change my Windows domain password, I can no longer ssh to my pc using my password.  Is there a way to refresh the passwd file to use the new password, or do we have do deactivate and reactivate the user in order for the new password to be recognized?  ssh to my pc using my keys still works, but if I try using my password it does not.

It seems that this is not a copssh/cygwin specific problem. There is no field in passwd file that can be affected by a password change:

The problem can arise due to caching of domain passwords on local workstations. Following Microsoft articles might help:

I don't think that is it either.  I am able to log on to my PC via the login screen with my password, but if I type ssh myuserid@my_pc, and type in my new password (or my old password), it gives me permission denied, where it worked fine before I changed the password.  I don't know.  If I put my keys from the remote system in my authorized_keys, I can do ssh to my pc without my password just fine.   Weird.

In the case you haven't tried it already, I wonder if you could restart your copssh service. There might be some internal caching issues in the daemon itself.

I have an NT domain controller. I installed copSSH on it and activated administrator user. Then I changed password via User manager. I could login without problems.
