i've been using 1.2.1 for a long time now. and last night i tried to upgrade it to the lastest version. it installed fine, but it refuses to start up as a service. i tried all the versions, none of them started up so i'm back to 1.2.1. i don't get why it wouldn't work. i'm on windows 2003 standard server.
Release news
- 2023-05-23 Copssh server 7.13.2
- 2023-05-23 Copssh server 8.1.2
- 2023-03-29 Rsync Client Helper GUI 1.0.3.7
- 2023-03-29 Nagwin 5.1.2
- 2023-03-29 cwRsync server 6.7.2
It seems that upgrading didn't work as excepted. copSSH 1.2.x uses LocalSystem as service account, while copSSH 1.3.x has its own service account. Some permission issues may arise during upgrade operation.
I recommend to uninstall v1.2.1 first and take a fresh installation of the new version.
Let me know if it doesn't help. Maybe it's time for a FAQ about manual uninstallation of previous versions.
ok cool that fixed it.. i thought it wouldn't work because last night i uninstalled it and deleted the directory and the new version still didn't start. But i uninstalled the 1.2 first and deleted the directory and installed the new one and it worked just fine. thank you
