ulaknode - Your email. Your server. Your rules.
ulaknode is a free, self-hosted business email server for Linux, packaged as a single Docker deployment. Run it on your own infrastructure, keep control of your email data, and skip per-user subscription fees entirely.
Whatβs included
ulaknode bundles a complete production-ready mail stack in a single deployment:
- Postfix handles SMTP mail transfer functions
- Dovecot provides IMAP access for various clients
- OpenDKIM and OpenDMARC sign, verify, and enforce DKIM/DMARC
- policyd-spf checks SPF
- Postgrey greylists unfamiliar senders, cutting off most bot-driven spam before it's even scored
- SpamAssassin performs content-based spam scoring
- ClamAV scans incoming messages for malware
- Postscreen blocks DNSBL-listed senders before a full SMTP session even starts, backed by Unbound, a resolver dedicated to just this mail server
- Fail2ban bans brute-force SMTP and IMAP clients at the application layer
Open-source and self-hosted
ulaknode is designed for organisations that want to run their own mail infrastructure without building a complete mail stack from scratch.
- Deploy it on your own VPS, dedicated server, private cloud, or on-premises hardware
- Keep your email data under your control
- Avoid per-user and per-mailbox subscription costs
- Use it freely under a BSD-style license
Free software, commercial support available
ulaknode is available under a permissive BSD-style license, so you can deploy and use it freely on your own infrastructure. There are no per-user, per-mailbox, or per-domain license fees.
For organisations that want expert help, commercial support is available for purchase from itefix.net. Support plans start at $549 per year.
Commercial support can include deployment guidance, migration help, upgrades, troubleshooting, and deliverability tuning.
